Where are you, Christmas? From 'The Grinch Who Stole Christmas' - Faith Hill

Where are you Christmas
Why can't I find you
Why have you gone away
Where is the laughter
You used to bring me
Why can't I hear music play

My world is changing
I'm rearranging
Does that mean Christmas changes too

Where are you Christmas
Do you remember
The one you used to know
I'm not the same one
See what the time's done
Is that why you have let me go

Christmas is here
Everywhere, oh
Christmas is here
If you care, oh

If there is love in your heart and your mind
You will feel like Christmas all the time

I feel you Christmas
I know I've found you
You never fade away
The joy of Christmas
Stays here in silence
Fills each and every heart with love

Where are you Christmas
Fills your heart with love

His Princess (Sheri Rose Shepherd)

My Princess,

You are my precious daughter.

You are a daughter of the King, and not just any king. You are My daughter, and I am the God of all heaven and earth. I'm delighted with you! You are the apple of My eye. You're daddy's girl. Your earthly father may love and adore you, but his love is not perfect, no matter how great- or small- it is. Only My love it perfect... because I am Love. I formed your body. I fashioned your mind and soul. I know your personality, and I understand your needs and desires. I see your heartaches and disappointments, and I love you passionately and patiently. My child, I bought you with a price so that we could have an intimate relationship together for all of eternity. Soon we will see each other face-to-face- Father and Daughter- and you will experience the wonderful place I have prepared for you in paradise. Until then, fix your eyes on heaven, and walk closely with Me. You will know that- although I am God- My arms are not too big to hold you, My beloved daughter.

Love,
Your King and your Daddy in heaven

"And I will be your Father, and you will be my sons and daughters, says the Lord Almighty." - 2 Corinthians 6:18

Redneck Night Before Christmas

On the evenin' 'fore Christmas, in our mobile house,
Nothin' was movin' (I had blasted the mouse).

We couldn't hang stockings in our trailer home here,
'Cause we don't wear socks the rest of the year.

The rug-rats wuz out cold in their feather beds,
There'd been a big tussle, and they'd skinned up their heads.

Maw smeared on her cold cream, and I spit out my chews.
We'd stayed up too late- and we needed a snooze.

When out in the yard I heard such a clamor,
Thought the laws had come back to put me in the slammer.
Away to the window I went at a run,
Poked a hole in the plastic and pointed my gun.

The bug light a-shinning on the new-fallen snow
Gave the brightness of day to our pick-ups below,
When, what with my bloodshot old eyes did I see,
A Ford-load a' dogs, a-coming at me,

With a little old driver, I thought what the heck!
It was, with out doubt, the Christmas Redneck!

All around the truck the hound dawgs they came,
And he hollered, and shouted, and called them by name:

"Now Buglar, now, Jughead! now, Fiddler and Shepherd!
On Yeller! on, Smoky! on Blue Tick and Leopard!
To the top of the steps, to the trailer's back wall!"
They crawled on everything, one and all.

As "coke" cans when empty out my old pickup fly,
Like a dip of old snuff, spit up to the sky,
So up to my double wide the old feller flew,
With a truck full of goods, and the hound dawgs too.

And then, in a minute, I heard and I saw
The jumping and running of each doggie's paw.

As I put down my shotgun, and was turnin' around;
Through the back door the Redneck jumped in with a bound.

In a camouflage suit, from his head to his shoes,
He moved like a feller with no time to lose.

A box full of moon pies, and an RC twelve-pack,
And a deer-hunting spotlight came off of his back.

His face- how leathery! It commanded respect.
His nose was as red as the back of his neck.
The chew in his mouth drew it up like a bow,
And the white beard of his chin caught the small overflow.

On the front of the cap, "Bless the NRA,"
And on the back of his shirt, "Go ahead, make my day."
I swiveled my head and looked down at his bag,
And there on the side was the old Southern Flag.

With square jaws and shoulders, a real good ole boy-
I laughed at this specter, in pure flat-out joy;
A wink of his smilin' beneath
Showed me that his mouth was sure missing some teeth.

He spoke nary a word, but came straight to me,
And laid in my hands, a brand-new CB.

Maw got a girdle to hold in her pelvis,
And a velvet painting of her idol Elvis.

He sprang to his rig as his dogs ran nearby
And whistled them up as he aimed for the sky.

As he drove out of sight, I heard him say,
"Be a good ole boy on this Christmas Day!"

Get Ready for Christmas, People!

'Twas the night before Christmas, when all through the house

Not a creature was stirring, not even a mouse;

The stockings were hung by the chimney with care,

In hopes that St. Nicholas soon would be there;

The children were nestled all snug in their beds,

While visions of sugar-plums danced in their heads;

And mamma in her 'kerchief, and I in my cap,

Had just settled down for a long winter's nap,

When out on the lawn there arose such a clatter,

I sprang from the bed to see what was the matter.

Away to the window I flew like a flash,

Tore open the shutters and threw up the sash.

The moon on the breast of the new-fallen snow

Gave the lustre of mid-day to objects below,

When, what to my wondering eyes should appear,

But a miniature sleigh, and eight tiny reindeer,

With a little old driver, so lively and quick,

I knew in a moment it must be St. Nick.

More rapid than eagles his coursers they came,

And he whistled, and shouted, and called them by name;

"Now, Dasher! now, Dancer! now, Prancer and Vixen!

On, Comet! on Cupid! on, Donder and Blitzen!

To the top of the porch! to the top of the wall!

Now dash away! dash away! dash away all!"

As dry leaves that before the wild hurricane fly,

When they meet with an obstacle, mount to the sky,

So up to the house-top the coursers they flew,

With the sleigh full of toys, and St. Nicholas too.

And then, in a twinkling, I heard on the roof

The prancing and pawing of each little hoof.

As I drew in my hand, and was turning around,

Down the chimney St. Nicholas came with a bound.

He was dressed all in fur, from his head to his foot,

And his clothes were all tarnished with ashes and soot;

A bundle of toys he had flung on his back,

And he looked like a peddler just opening his pack.

His eyes -- how they twinkled! his dimples how merry!

His cheeks were like roses, his nose like a cherry!

His droll little mouth was drawn up like a bow,

And the beard of his chin was as white as the snow;

The stump of a pipe he held tight in his teeth,

And the smoke it encircled his head like a wreath;

He had a broad face and a little round belly,

That shook, when he laughed like a bowlful of jelly.

He was chubby and plump, a right jolly old elf,

And I laughed when I saw him, in spite of myself;

A wink of his eye and a twist of his head,

Soon gave me to know I had nothing to dread;

He spoke not a word, but went straight to his work,

And filled all the stockings; then turned with a jerk,

And laying his finger aside of his nose,

And giving a nod, up the chimney he rose;

He sprang to his sleigh, to his team gave a whistle,

And away they all flew like the down of a thistle.

But I heard him exclaim, ere he drove out of sight,

"Happy Christmas to all, and to all a good-night."

But, I missed Darla, my golden retriever, wayyyyyyyyyyyy too much! Now though, I am Darla, AND Chance following me everywhere! (Chance is the Doyle's dog, we are doggie-sitting him while THEY are aty the mountain cabin.)

And so for Thanksgiving Eve, we went over the the Lowery family's house! Most of the night, we played 'Flashlight Tag'. Yummy Food too!!!

For Thanksgiving though, we went to the Chappell household! I had a very good time playing the "Nerf Wars". It was a lot of fun! And, we had turkey, green bean casserole, rolls, mashed potatoes, apple cider, and lots more food!!!! I even got to try 'Grasshopper Brownies'. F.Y.I.- They are NOT made with grasshoppers in them!

And I know that all of you that are reading this, are probably wondering what I am most thankful for. I mean, come on! Seriously, that is why they call it 'THANKSgiving'! So, I am going to give it to you. What I am most thankful for.

Another day... (or 2) :)

Hello everyone. Sup. Okay so I am very sorry I haven't blogged in a while... (I have been VERY busy) So, this weekend....

I had a very good time serving in KidzChurch on Saturday night with G.I.Jon and my very dear friend, Maggie. We did a new curriculum last night. It is by Hillsong Kidz. I kinda like it. :)

And today, I served in KidzChurch AGAIN for 1st service! (I love those guys. ;) I did Praise and Worship with my other friend, Sam. Btw, John Chappell was in there doing sound. (I haven't talked to him in like forever!)

Then. I ate a muffin.

After that, for 2nd service, I helped out in Toddlers 2. (2 is for 2 year-olds) They are so adorable! Then we dropped Alley off to babysit for Joshey. While she was babysitting, Me and my Dad and Savannah all went shopping at Target. I saw this reallu cute flannel snap-down plaid shirt, and Dad ALMOST bought it for me. IT WAS SO CUTE! But. He didn't. :( After shopping, Dad let me and Savannah get something from Starbucks! YUMMY! :) We both got a grande Strawberries and Creme. mmmmmmmmm! Dad got a plain old cup-a-coffee. Then we went to church for the Sunday night service. Pastor Steve did a GRRRRRRRRRRREAT job tonight with his sermon. I <3 you Pastor Steve!!! :)

And, then, we, went, to, WALMART! How exciting! :/

And now, I am getting ready to watch 'The Grinch Who Stole Christmas' with the fam...
Good night everybody!

That is all. Good bye.

Do you know?

Do you know how awkward it is to be babysitting a 1 year-old at church, while one of your guy-friends are walking with you taking care of him as well?

Do you know how delicious the smell of gingerbread cookies is when that are baking in the oven?

Do you know how annoying it is when you are walking your dog, and your dog sees a falling leaf?

Do you know how hard it is to take all of the Christmas stuff out of the attic?

Do you know how good it feels to be sipping a cup of hot cocoa on a cold fall day?

Do you know how cute a mother dog is with her puppies?

Do you know how excited your little sisters are when the first snow falls to the ground?

Do you know how it feels when someone gives you a hug when you are down?

Do you know how good it feels to have a clean, organized room?

I do.

That is all. Good bye.

Pslams 91 (New King James Version)

Psalms 91

He who dwells in the secret place of the Most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty. I will say of the Lord, "He is my refuge and my fortress; my God in Him I will trust." Surely He shall deliver you from the snare of the fowler and from the perilous pestilence. He shall cover you with His feathers, and under His wings you shall take refuge; His truth shall be your shield and buckler. You shall not be afraid of the terror by night, nor of the arrow that flies by day, nor of the pestilence that walks in darkness, nor of the destruction that lays waste at noonday. A thousand may fall at your side, and ten thousand at your right hand; but it shall not come near you. Only with your eyes shall you look and see the reward of the wicked. Because you have made the Lord, who is my refuge, even the Most High, your dwelling place, no evil shall befall you, nor shall any plague come near your dwelling; for He shall give his angels charge over you, to keep you in all your ways. In their hands they shall bear you up, lest you dash your foot against a stone. You shall tread upon the lion and the cobra, the young lion and the serpent shall you trample underfoot. "Because he has set his love upon Me, therefore I will deliver him; I will set him on high, because he has known My name. He shall call upon Me, and I will answer him; I will be with him in trouble; I will deliver him and honor him. With long life I will satisfy him, and show him my salvation."

Amen.

Field of Dreams and TSO

Sup.

I just got back from Field of Dreams! I absolutely LOVE the new building! So much more space, and so much more fun to go up and down, up and down, up and down, up and down, up and down, up and down, the stairs. :) Well Field of Dreams (otherwise known as F.O.D.) is where I take Broadway Dance class with Chelsae Green, Vocal class with Ms. Lora Fabio, and Musical Theatre with Mr. Green.

In Musical Theatre, we are going to be performing "The Wiz" in June. I am soooo excited! YAY YAY YAY YAY!!! I am going to be playing 'Lord High Underling'. He is kinda creepy. :/ Mr. Green is very funny at times... As is Luke, Devon, Lydia, and 'Mama'. And btw, "I missed you tonight Blair!"

In my Vocal class, we are doing Christmas solos. Everyone is doing a solo. Mine is called, 'Bring a Torch'. I honestly have never heard the song in my life! So I am hoping that I can memorize my solo, before I have to perform it. ;)

Speaking of singing, I am going to be in my church's annual Trans Siberian Orchestra (otherwise known as the TSO production). This year, I will be in the Adult Choir! (Instead of the Children's Choir... btw, Allie and Savannah, my 2 younger sisters, will be in the Children's Choir.) I am very excited to be in it! I had to audition and everything for it! I sang "Somewhere over the Rainbow". And obviously, I made it! YAY ME! I know, I am soooo awesome! :) hehehe

Well, I will keep you posted on my life... And if I had not had a particularly excited or unusually strange day, please forgive me. ;)

That is all. good bye.

The 1st of November 2009

Hey ppl! Sup.

Well last night was totally amazing... Family Fest. WOW! Thank you to all of the people who made it possible. You rock! I did the rock climbing wall like 5x. But, Savannah was so much better than I was. (Even with her bare feet!) And I beat Caleb Henderson on the jousting thing twice. BTW, I almost beat Matt Lowery, but I didn't. :( But, I had yummy cotton candy, and popcorn. Oh, and the giant slide was awesome too! :)

Okay and today was pretty cool too... Pastor Steve's last message in the series, Building a Failure Proof Life, totally rocked! I had to listen to it twice! :D Then, Megan Ballard came over to our house with Savannah and I did their hair. They are cute sometimes. ;) We went to Starbucks after that... YAY! (F.Y.I.- The Pumpkin Spice Latte isn't really all that good. I like the Strawberries and Creme Frap better. :) And at the Sunday Night service today, I watched Evan and Kelvin Colon get baptized :), and took communion with everyone... "I will never say or do anything on purpose to hurt you, I will always think pure thoughts about you, and I will allow God to use me to heal you. " Now I am watching part of Apollo 13 with the fam. GOOD DAY... :)

That is all. Good bye.

Halloween 9 yrs. ago...

Hey y'all! Just had a serious flash-back. Halloween 9 years ago. Enjoy!

Friday, October 30, 2009

Today.

Well... Today I was outside most of the day raking leaves in a big pile in front of the swing. We, as in my sisters and I, swung, and then jumped off the swing into the pile of leaves. So much fun! We were outside a very long time. Then Dad came home from work with dinner... FIVE GUYS BURGERS! Yummy! I got a shower, curled my hair, and brushed my teeth. Now, I am a sleepy head. :) Good night.

Princess Pumpkin

Here is a very cool pumpkin that I absolutely adore! It is a Sleeping Beauty carved pumpkin. (BTW, this is my fist blog post, so go easy on me. lol)
